Mission Statement:

The Telecommunications Task Force mission is to advocate for reliable communication and data services that promote affordable alternatives, safety and emergency planning, and sustainable service practices that are responsive to our residents, businesses and government.

Objectives:

• Follow through on the Altice complaint and the Public Service Commission's Notice of Apparent Violations
• Demand reliable sustainable service and comprehensive coverage from our telecommunication providers
• Advocate for affordable communication alternatives
• Continue Comcast franchise renewal negotiations regarding service and performance
• Establish a safety and emergency plan in conjunction with the telecommunication companies and utilities that serve Somers

• Proactive and meaningful service credits for outages
• Access to customer service to resolve problems
• Eliminate customer hold time
• Return customer dropped calls in a prompt timeframe
• Escalation path for service complaints
• Provide reliable estimated time to repair
