Agriculture & Farmland Protection Board (AFPB): In response to this loss of farmland, the Westchester County Agriculture & Farmland Protection Board(AFPB) was created in 1999 by act of the County Board of Legislature (BOL)pursuant to New York State Agriculture & Markets Law. The AFPB includes representatives from Westchester's agricultural industry, and its mission is to maintain the economic viability and the environmental and landscape preservation values associated with agriculture.  For more information on AFPB, go to the following link: Agriculture and Farmland (westchestergov.com)There is currently 1 vacancy as of May 2024.

 

Historic Preservation Advisory Committee (HPAC):  The mission of the Historic Preservation Advisory Committee is to work with properties managed by the Departments of Parks, Public Works, and Environmental Facilities, as well as to bring together and further the various interests in historic preservation throughout the County of Westchester.  For more information on historic County properties that HPAC handles, go to the following link: Historic Preservation (westchestergov.com)  There are currently 4 vacancies as of May 2024. 

 

Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD):  Established in 1967 under New York state law by the then County Board of Supervisors, the Westchester County Soil and Water Conservation District is charged with developing and carrying out soil, water and related natural resources conservation, management and educational activities. Stormwater Advisory Board (SAB):  There shall be a Storm Water Advisory Board which shall advise the Commissioner of Planning, the Commissioner of Public Works and Transportation, the County Executive, and the County Board in matters relating to storm water management, and shall perform and exercise such other and related duties required by the Commissioner of Planning, the Commissioner of Public Works and Transportation, the County Executive, and the County Board.  The Stormwater Advisory Board is created and governed by the County Stormwater Management Law (see attached).
